The RMTAO Board of Directors is pleased to introduce our new Executive Director and CEO, Michael Feraday.

Mr. Feraday has over 30 years’ experience in senior leadership roles as President and CEO, General Manager and Executive Director. Most recently, Michael has worked in Primary Care as an Executive Director of Family Health Teams. He is also Co-Chair of an Ontario Health Team and has been very active supporting reforms in Health Care in Ontario. Michael has worked in both the private and not for profit sectors and has an extensive background in strategic planning and primary care.

Krystin Bokalo, the Chair of the RMTAO Board, believes that Mr. Feraday’s extensive background in strategic planning and health care policy will be an asset in his role with the RMTAO.

“The massage therapy profession has reached a pivotal point in our development, and with initiatives like our tax exemption campaign, our support of continued research, and our strengthened relationships with insurance companies, with the regulator, and with the government, we will be able to take things to the next level as a respected part of health care teams,” said Ms. Bokalo. “Mr. Feraday has the insight and experience needed to help lead us in the right direction, and I look forward to welcoming him to the RMTAO.”

Mr. Feraday has a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Toronto and most recently in his role as Executive Director of the Haldimand Family Health Team, he was able to create strong relationships within the community to help the organization flourish. He looks forward to applying his experience to the RMTAO.

“Massage therapy is an integral part of health care and I want to create new opportunities for RMTs to take their place as strong contributors to health care teams,” Mr. Feraday said. “I look forward to connecting with RMTAO members, building upon previously established partnerships and developing new relationships to help move this profession forwards.”

Michael Feraday will be attending the RMTAO Annual General Meeting this Sunday, February 2, and he looks forward to meeting as many members as possible and jumping right in to the work of leading the association.
